A Sharp Difference In 50 Years

In 1974, the man occupying the White House was facing impeachment on the grounds he had obstructed justice.  As a result, he became the first American president to resign from office less than two years after his landslide re-election victory (winning the popular vote by 60%).  Only one other president had faced impeachment in American history at that point.

Forced to resign as he faced impeachment on the grounds he had obstructed justice.

Fifty years later, the country re-elects a man (already twice impeached) by less than 51%.  The president-elect’s top priority?  To obstruct justice.

Re-elected despite being twice impeached with plans to obstruct justice.

Such sharp differences.  What a difference 50 years can make.
